Basically just updating this to let all of my old NaNo friends that I'm now blogging regularly, and will eventually even post some writing, on my website. I update almost every day. It's pretty lame but feel free to check it out and comment so I'm ecouraged to keep doing it.

It's back.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Enjoy. Or don't.

Eventually there will be a blog of some sort, which I'll hopefully use more regularly than LJ.

I feel like I should probably explain why I decided to end Letters and Words.

Reason 1: Writing is hard. It's extremely hard and I'm just not all that good at it.

Reason 2: I'm a quitter. Aside from academic stuff, I've never finished anything in my life. The only exception is basketball camp in fourth or fifth grade. Every other time I've played a sport, I've quit midseason. I'm a quitter and I should have known coming into this.

With those powers combined, we don't form Captain Planet, but we form me giving up. I hadn't written anything substantial since Friday and yesterday Kevin said he was done, so I gave it some thought and last night I made my decision.

Oh well. It was fun while it lasted.

I'll keep this journal, I think. Maybe for writing, maybe for personal stuff.

Keep it real. Respek.

I'm done.

I'll scroll my name across your drapes to assure you this is my curtain call.

Okay, so I haven't updated with anything important in a while. I was in NYC all weekend and have been busy readjusting all week. But I do have a little bit of news.

I've decided to scrap the entire plot idea. Any and all inspiration that drove me to pick a storyline like that is gone. I was in a state where writing something like that would have helped me deal with a lot of stuff. But all of that has completely reversed itself.

So yeah, no plot. Just writing.

If you're reading this you probably fall under one of the following descriptions:

A) You're a friend of mine and you know that I'm participating in National Novel Writing Month. You're genuinely interested in my novel and want to know how it's coming along. Or maybe you're not interested. I have no idea.

B) You're a fellow NaNoWriMo participant who found me through LJ or through the NaNoWriMo website. Maybe you're as scared of November as I am. Or maybe you're a NaNoWriMo vet who can give me some pointers.

or C) You have no idea who I am or what NaNoWriMo is. You landed here by accident. You may have never even seen a black man before... 'allo. You can stick around and laugh at what will probably end up being a pathetic attempt at writing a novel or leave and never come back. It's your choice.

So why do I think I can actually pump out 50,000 words in 30 days? I don't know. Maybe I can't. But I'm definitely going to try.

So what am I writing about? I don't know, actually. I have a title, but I don't have a plot. We'll see.

Speaking of the title, I'm pretty sure it's going to be Letters and Words (Never Sent and Never Said). Once again, we'll see.

By the way, if I leave any of the novel open to public view, I will throw away all of my First Print Rights and that wouldn't be good. So I need to have full control over who sees my posts. As a result, every post after this is going to be friends only, so comment and be sure to add me if you want to read anything I write.
