August Approaches [01 Dec 2009|06:54pm] viralaserithan [ mood | determined ] [ music | Cherry Lips ~ Garbage ] NaNo is done, but I'm still going. I'm currently at 54,500 words and I'm about 6 scenes from the end of Guiding Ghosts. I'm exhausted and I should call it quits... but I'm so close. It would be the first time that I've ever actually finished a novel, and that will be fantastic! Also, I'm pretty sure I hate this book too much to come back to it if I stop now, so it's kinda now or never. So... now it is. ( Chemo Begins ) On a really awesome note, my students did a phenomenal job finishing NaNo! I had 33 kids write all month, with 20 of them actually meeting their goals! Yay them! :D post comment

It's been a long haul and it feels really good to be on the other side. ( Just When You Thought It Couldn't Get Worse ) I'm still writing. I'm closer to finishing my novel (like... a real ending and everything) than I've ever been and, like it or not, it'd be a fabulous sensation to actually be done. This last section is actually the most involved, so it might take a bit of work... but I actually feel like it's possible. post comment

I've been writing an insane amount over this break, which is exactly what I needed to do. Of course, the rushed pace has actually managed to diminish the quality of my work. I didn't even think that was possible with this novel. But... ah well. I can always fix it later. o.o ( Read more... ) I've abandoned subtlety completely... if it ever actually existed in this novel. Ah well. I'm officially at 45k and, despite everything, I might actually finish on time. Wow... I really didn't think that would happen this year. o.o 1 comment|post comment

Officially 5k behind where I'm supposed to be today. Thankfully, I have tomorrow off so I might be able to fix that. I probably won't be able to catch up completely (5k is about the most I can usually manage in a day and, by tomorrow, I'll be nearly 7k behind), but I should get pretty close. At least, I'm hoping. As for the rest of tonight, however, I intend to have a girls' night in with my roomies. It's time for bad movies and a little too much wine. Break is here and we've earned a bit of relaxation time. post comment

CTs and Questions [23 Nov 2009|10:57pm] viralaserithan [ mood | exhausted ] [ music | Don't Stop Believin' ~ Glee Cast ] Two more scenes from Guiding Ghosts. My posts are almost caught up with what I've written. ( Read more... ) I think the CT scene is inaccurate... It's funny. It wasn't that long ago that I went through that myself, but I can't really remember it clearly. While most of this story isn't autobiographical, my own experiences are the only clues I have to write about the medical part of this novel... and apparently my memory isn't quite as good as I needed it to be. So, instead, I'm just piecing together what I can and hoping it sounds believable. For now. I also think I switched the boss's name again. I can't remember what I had it at before, but it appears to be Grayson at the moment. I wonder if that will stick. 32k. I'm still painfully behind, but only by about 6.5k. Considering that I wrote 5k yesterday, that's more manageable. Difficult, but manageable. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ post comment

I've written 3.5k today, and I'm still 8k away from today's goal. I know treatment is done... but two fevers in two weeks take a lot out of you. I'm really hoping I can recover from this setback.
